Passphrases can be enabled to prevent physical attacks and social engineering attacks. As an additional precaution, a watch-only wallet mobile phone app can push alert notifications to you in case something happens to the assets that are not in your default wallet. The Cobo Vault mobile app can alert you of any suspicious activity in your default wallet with the Sentinel Wallet function.
You can use your default wallet as a Sentinel Wallet that will alert you if assets are moved out of it. In the event that an attacker succeeds in gaining access to your private keys, they will still need to guess or brute force your passphrases, so this alert can buy you time to move your funds using the app.
Sentinel Wallets need to be bound with the Cobo Vault mobile app to send you alerts. You can transfer assets immediately out of hidden wallets from the app if suspicious activity is detected by your Sentinel Wallet.
1. Download and install the Cobo Vault mobile app. Allow app notifications in your phone settings.
2. Designate a lesser amount of assets to the Sentinel Wallet address (recovery phrase default wallet). Send the majority of your assets to several hidden wallet addresses (Passphrase wallets).
3. Sync Sentinel Wallet with the Cobo Vault app.
4. Whenever assets in your Sentinel Wallet move, you will receive app notifications. If the activity is suspicious, you can transfer the assets in hidden wallets to safe addresses.
