Cobo's announcement on supporting the ETH Merge plan and potential forked coins The Ethereum merge plan is expected to be carried out in the third/fourth quarter of 2022. As the most trusted digital asset custody and asset management platform, Cobo pays close attention to this Ethereum merger. The following announcements are made on the basis of protecting the security of user assets:
- Cobo will support this Ethereum merger and upgrade. Before the merger, Cobo will suspend the deposit and withdrawal of ETH and ERC-20 network tokens. The timeline is about:
-Consensus layer upgrade (Bellatrix) at 19:00 (Singapore time) on September 06, 2022
-Execution layer upgrade (Paris) at 08:00 (Singapore time) on September 15, 2022 - For new forked chains or forked coins that may be generated after the merger, Cobo will evaluate whether to support them. For forked chains or forked coins that meet Cobo's review and evaluation requirements, the online support time will be synchronized through announcements.
- During the merger and upgrade of Ethereum, for users who have subscribed for wealth asset management (ETH regular, ETH current, ETH DeFi fund), if the participating products are in existence, they will not be able to enjoy the potential distribution of forked coins; Expired and returned to the wallet account, for the forked coins that Cobo has decided to support, the distribution of potential forked coins can be obtained normally.
Please ensure that you allow sufficient time for deposits and withdrawals, Cobo will handle any technical issues in the hard fork for users holding ETH and ERC20 tokens.
